Suitable for

  • Construction and water management companies
  • Waste management companies

Analysis options

  • Leachate pursuant to Table 10.1 of Decree 273/2021
  • Leachate pursuant to Table 2.1 of Decree 294/2005 – transitional period

Determines (pursuant to Decree 273/2021)

  • General leachate parameters
    • Physical-chemical parameters – pH, solutes
    • Inorganic parameters – chlorides, fluorides, sulphates, metals (As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn, Mo, Sb, Se)
    • Organic parameters – BTEX, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons + benzo(a)pyrene alone, polychlorinated biphenyls, hydrocarbons C10-C40, EOX, DOC, TOC, monohydric phenols
  • Parameters (and consequently their limits) depend on the type of landfill to be used for the disposal of the waste (inert, other or hazardous waste landfill)

Analysis duration: usually seven to ten business days

Additional information

  • Waste is split into inert, other and hazardous. The landfill must be selected depending on the type of waste it is authorised to accept
  • During the transition period it is necessary to establish what waste the landfill is authorised to accept pursuant to the relevant decree
  • The decree requires sampling by a qualified person (however some landfills and depots do not require this)
  • The leachate determines the waste leachability class (I, IIa, IIb (for landfill closure) and III) – basic analysis for landfilling
  • For waste intended for an inert waste landfill
    • Table 10.1 – leachate class I (Decree 273/2021)
    • Further, the parameters pursuant to Table 10.2 (Decree 273/2021) – BTEX, C10-C40, PAU, PCB
  • For other waste landfills (S-OO1, S-OO3)
    • Table 10.1 – leachate class IIa (Decree 273/2021)
    • S-OO3 where DOC is exceeded can be landfilled where Table 10.3 is complied with (C10-C40, PAU, benzo(a)pyrene, EOX
  • For a hazardous waste landfill
    • Table 10.1 – leachate class III
  • Waste containing a biodegradable component and treatment products also requires a respiratory activity test for stabilised biowaste (AT4)
  • Where asbestos is suspected, fibre content is determined
  • In specific cases, the limit value set by the decree can be exceeded by a factor of three
