As the founder of KKCG, Karel Komárek focuses primarily on the Group’s long-term and strategic development. In cooperation with KKCG AG board members and the management of individual holding companies, he plots investment strategies in individual key areas of interest, makes informed decisions concerning further expansion and investments, and participates in the establishment of long-term partnerships, especially with foreign investors and business partners. Mr. Komárek also played a role in the initiation of a number of public service projects, including the Dvořákova Praha Festival and the PROMĚNY Foundation.
Board of Directors
Mr. Langanger is the incumbent Vice Chairman of the MND a.s. Board of Directors. Prior to his tenure at MND, he worked for a number of years for OMV Exploration & Production, where he held various managerial positions and was recognized for many important achievements, especially in the field of oil and gas prospecting abroad. From 2002, Mr. Langanger acted as the CEO of OMV E&P and a board member of its parent company OMV. He spends much of his free time mountain hiking in South Tyrol.
A member of the top management of the MND Group since 1999 and a member of the board of directors of KKCG a.s., he has held top executive positions in various divisions of the KKCG Group since 1998. He served with SPP Bohemia as Director of Foreign Projects, and was the firm’s Executive Director from 2001 to 2006. He worked in the banking sector prior to joining KKCG.
He has worked for the KKCG investment group since 2003. Between 2006 and 2010, he played a role in managing the restructuring of the MND group. Starting in 2007, he spent three years as a member and, subsequently, as the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SPP Bohemia a.s., the operator of the underground gas storage facility in Dolní Bojanovice. In 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moravia Gas Storage a.s., where he currently holds the position of member of the Supervisory Board.
Prior to his tenure at MND, Dr. Ulrich Schöler worked already for more than three decades in the European gas industry and most of this time for Ruhrgas AG, where he held various managerial positions. Since the beginning of the 90thies he was responsible for the development of the gas business of Ruhrgas in the CEE Countries. In 1996 Dr. Ulrich Schöler became member of the board of Ruhrgas Energie Beteiligungs AG, since 2005 he acted as CEO of E.ON Ruhrgas International AG. Dr. Ulrich Schöler retired from EON in 2010. He spends much of his free time for sports activities like skiing, bicycling and sailing.
